Perspective

Last night, I attended a friend's wedding afterparty, @Gooski's! The bride was continually repeating (into the mic) how much she loved her new husband, how much she loved her wedding, and how much she loved all the people in attendance. Now, you could attribute this to a day full of alcohol. However, I have a feeling that she would have been saying and feeling the exact same thing if she were completely sober. They were all so happy, so positive, and so full of REAL love. We were able to have a GREAT time, drink, "get lifted", play loud music(some of which was anti-establishment in a very humorous way), and in doing all of this not even be a hint of a blip on the radar of any kind of gov't agency, religious group, or law enforcement. WE ARE FREE!

I recently have been playing Turkish music, and studying Middle Eastern music in general. I found out that in Iraq, if you play music that is not "Holy Music", you can be thrown in jail! I haven't researched much more, but I'm pretty sure that it is that way in a good part of the Middle East.

I could get on here and talk as much s%&* as I want to about Bush, about Nancy Pelosi, about Obama, about Greenpeace, about Bono, about ANYTHING, and no one can do anything about it. THAT is freedom of speech. Not throwing pee-filled water balloons at police officers :-)

Positivity Only, Please

I am starting this blog so that instead of talking S%*& and getting angry, let's talk about what we can do to make things happier, better, and more peaceful in this country. Which, by the way, I am very thankful for and though it is faaar from perfect, I think it is a wonderful place.

Here are ground rules for this blog.

1. Absolutely NO negativity! If you post something angry, hateful, or negative in general, it WILL be deleted. I am all for the first amendment, but that is not the purpose of this blog

2. The words, "Conservative", "Liberal", "Democrat", "Republican", "Right-Wing", or "Left-Wing" are not allowed...We The PEOPLE!!! That's what we are!
